THE Stoneyford Jubilee Committee has accused the Mayor Councillor James Tinsley of failing to recognise its contribution to the village's July 11 celebrations which this year involved the lighting of an environmentally friendly beacon rather than a bonfire.
The comments came after Mr. Tinsley told the November meeting of the council's Leisure Services Committee he had been told he was not welcome in the village when he arrived at the event.
A spokesperson said they were 'not surprised' by his comments: "It is polite to await an invitation to attend a festival rather than just turn up unannounced and five months later complain you weren't made to feel welcome," he ...
