WORCESTER - One of the city's highest-profile redevelopment projects has turned into a flash point for controversy, as the owner of a new liquor store across from Union Station, on the Washington Square roundabout, has asked a court to alter the city's plan for the area.
Kathryn Krock, owner of KJ Barrons (SEE NOTE AT END) Fine Wine & Spirits, alleges in a request for injunctions that the city - in the midst of a massive reconfiguration of the square from a rotary to a roundabout with four attached development parcels - is trying to isolate her business to make way for other projects, such as a hotel and office buildings.
