Fuel Efficiency Standards should be put in place
Chennai, Dec 6 (PTI) Setting fuel efficiency standards in vehicles is necessary to ensure effective utilisation of petroleum products and help mitigate the threat of global warming, M S Srinivasan, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said today.
"It is extremely important to adopt a concerted approach that would address interests of all the stakeholders," he said at a two-day international seminar on Fuel Efficiency Standards and Labelling of Vehicles in India here today.
Srinivasan said economic progress has mainly been driven on the back of hydrocarbons globally.
