Lockheed Martin has filed suit in federal court charging Hughes Aircraft with violating a teaming agreement for a classified Air Force sensor program, documents show.

The suit was filed on June 2 in the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California in San Jose as the Air Force was starting the selection process for the $22.6 billion Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS), an early warning satellite system to detect ballistic missile launches.

Judge Spencer Williams of the court rejected two motions, a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction filed by Lockheed Martin attorneys.
