"Strength and Honor," the writing-directing debut of Cork County-born Irish filmmaker Mark Mahon, is a well-acted, Irish-movie cliche marathon.
Sean Kelleher (Michael Madsen) is a middle-aged, Irish-American boxer in Ireland, who in the first few minutes of the film kills his wife's younger brother while sparring.
Shortly thereafter, Sean's wife kicks the bucket, and their cherubic son is diagnosed with the same terminal heart condition. The lifesaving surgery will cost a fortune.
