CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Charlotte-based Piedmont Natural Gas Company (NYSE: PNY) today filed its response to a June 19, 1995 Order of the North Carolina Utilities Commission (NCUC) regarding the conditional awarding to the Company of a certificate to serve Surry, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yadkin counties with natural gas service. In its six-page response, Piedmont "respectfully and with considerable regret" declined to accept the conditional certificate with its accompanying conditions and requested that the Commission issue a final order granting a certificate to Piedmont which does not prohibit the Company from using available expansion funds to help finance ...
