A HOSPITAL patient stole an ambulance satellite navigation system while waiting for treatment.
Simon Harrow was later arrested after he was spotted trying to sell sat-navs in Hartlepool's Tesco supermarket.
The repeat offender has now received a community order after a court learned he had already spent nearly three months in custody on remand.
Teesside Crown Court heard that Harrow, of Kipling Road, Hartlepool, was at the town's university hospital as a patient in the accident and emergency department when he broke into an ambulance parked outside.
