The 40 miles between downtown Worcester and downtown Boston, the 40 miles that separate the American Hockey League in New England's second largest city from the National Hockey League in the Hub of New England, if not the universe, will cease to be of any importance for a few splendid days and nights in late January of 2009.
Which is when, as was officially announced yesterday in the atrium of St. Vincent Hospital in downtown Worcester, the annual American Hockey League All-Star Classic will be played at the DCU Center, with the Sharks as the host team, naturally.
