BOSTON - Toronto Raptors coach Sam Mitchell knows Kevin Garnett better than any Celtic does.
Mitchell played with K.G. in Minnesota for seven years before retiring in 2002, and the two often guarded each other in practice. So Mitchell knows firsthand about Garnett's passion for the game.
"It's like he's putting an NBA uniform on for the first time," Mitchell said before his Raptors played the Celtics last night. "That's how he practices and plays every day.
