LATHER UP

For everyday washing, Wallace recommends color-enhancing shampoos rather than color-depositing shampoos. "They contain shine enhancers and additives that make color appear brighter," he says of the enhancing formulas. TRY John Frieda Color Captivating Shampoo with Light Enhancers (shown here in Radiant Red), $6.50. "Color--depositing shampoos should be used sparingly--once a week, since dyes in these formulas can mess up your color if used too frequently," adds Wallace. TRY L'Oreal Professionel New Colorist Collection Color Depositing Shampoo, $15.
