LOS ANGELES, Aug. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Virgin Records' Cracker has stormed the recording studio again: the group began cutting tracks in mid-July for a new album expected to be released in early 1996. The Cracker contingent has chosen Memphis' famed Ardent Studios as an appropriate site to record the follow up to the group's 1993 breakthrough album, "Kerosene Hat."

Led by singer/guitarist David Lowery and guitarist/singer Johnny Hickman, Cracker's newest studio foray features Charlie Quintana (Cruzados, Havalinas) on drums and bassist Bob Rupe (Silos, Gutterball).
