Corn prices surge 8.6 pct from November's average
Shanghai. December 10. INTERFAX-CHINA - China's average November corn price surged by RMB 110 ($14.87) per ton, or 8.57 percent, to RMB 1,773 ($239.75) per ton by Dec. 3, according to a monthly corn market analysis by the China National Grain and Oil Information Center (CNGOIC) released today.
"China raised fuel oil prices in early November, so freight costs increased at the same time. To ensure corn supply in northern China, some corn consuming enterprises had to purchase corn from northeastern China.
