notion that King Arthur should be played by an actor in his 40s. What were they thinking?
One look at Sean Connery in the role and it is difficult to picture anyone else. He seems born to play Arthur.
``We wanted a 45-year-old Arthur and a 25-year-old Lancelot, but then we got word that Sean was available and might be interested in the role,'' director Jerry Zucker said.
``I had to think about it for about five minutes, and then I changed everything,'' he added. ``When Sean eventually said he'd do it, I went running around the house and jumping up and down on the bed. I was really excited; who could resist having Sean play King Arthur?''
