SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 11, 1995--Apple Computer, Inc. today welcomed the leading Windows TCP/IP developer -- NetManage Inc. -- to the Macintosh platform, in conjunction with the announcement by NetManage of its intent to bring the Window Sockets 1.1 APIs to the Mac(TM) OS.
WinSock has emerged as the Application Programming Interface (API) of choice for accessing TCP/IP services on personal computers running the Windows environment.
