WEBSTER - The Department of Revenue's rejection of the town's budget figures last week will delay tax bills and require a special town meeting to pay bills.
Town Administrator Raymond W. Houle Jr. said yesterday he would ask the Board of Selectmen to schedule a special town meeting when it meets at 6 tonight to discuss the town's financial situation.
The Department of Revenue last week rejected some revenue sources the town claimed in its recap sheet, a document that summarizes a community's revenues, expenditures, assessed values and levy. If the DOR certifies it, a community can set its tax rate.
