EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

CIRCULATION figures continue to decline at many L.A. County daily newspapers, with more people getting their news from the Internet, television and other media.

Weekday circulation fell 3 percent to 1.5 million, for the circulation period ended Sept. 30, compared with the same period last year.

Los Angeles Times, which is owned by Chicago-based Tribune Co. and accounted for nearly half of all readers, saw daily circulation hold steady. Sunday circulation fell 5 percent.
