FURIOUS campaigners have vowed to fight for a new state-of-the-art police station in Pontefract.
Angry councillors and residents say they are determined to save the town's station on Sessions House Yard - which is facing the axe - and are calling for a revamped facility to be built at the "run down" site.
Police announced last month that a new headquarters will be built - possibly in Normanton - in the next three years, and neighbourhood policing teams will move into buildings in Pontefract and Castleford.
