Chorley boss Gerry Luczka is chasing a new striker after missing out on former Magpie front man Peter Wright.
The Victory Park boss wanted Wright back at Chorley, but the forward linked up with Tony Greenwood's Fleetwood Town instead.
"Peter Wright is the calibre of striker I want at Chorley, and it was a great disappointment he didn't sign for us," said Luczka.
"We had lengthy discussions and Peter was definitely
interested. He would have been the missing piece in the jigsaw up front. What I need is a 25-goal-a-season striker, a real predator who is going to deliver.
