CHENGDU, China (FNS) -- As operating costs and competition continue to mount in China's wealthy coastal areas, some foreign garment manufacturers targeting domestic sales are beginning to have more luck with China's untapped inland markets.
Chung Hsing Textile Co., one of Taiwan's largest textile and garment companies, has been in operation since June 1993 in Chengdu, fast-developing capital of Sichuan province, China's largest and most populous with 110 million people. So far production can't keep up with regional sales.
