He was so hot one could have Frye-d an egg on the sidewalk.
Portland forward Channing Frye entered Sunday averaging a meager 6.1 points. He got the start when LaMarcus Aldridge sat out with plantar fasciitis.
No problem. All Frye did was score 14 points in the first period, more than doubling his average, as the Trail Blazers took charge early and defeated the Nuggets 116-105 Sunday night at the Pepsi Center for their seventh straight win.
Frye finished with 20 points, shooting 10-of-13. Leading Portland was guard Brandon Roy, the most recent Western Conference player of the week, with 26 points.
