Frank Broyles stood near midfield of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, surrounded by a group totaling more than 200 former players, friends, family members and University of Arkansas administrators.
Another 70,742 people watched from the stands on a beautiful November night as the stadium turf was officially named in his honor.
It was a fitting tribute to Broyles, and a reminder to everyone in attendance that after 50 years of service, there's not much pertaining to Arkansas athletics Broyles can't lay claim to. Broyles, 82, becomes athletic director emeritus beginning Jan. 1, 2008. He'll work out of the Razorback ...
