Salt offers new twist for pretzels. (Cargill Inc. Cargill Foods-Salt Products' new Cargill's California Sea Salt)

Cargill Foods-Salt Products introduced its new salt product ideal for pretzels in Feb. 1995. Called Cargill's California Sea Salt, the new product is made of seawater from the California coast which is naturally evaporated. It offers a coarse texture and a 'husky' flavor ideal for pretzels. Since the product's introduction, several major pretzel manufacturers have begun testing it.
