THE ACT OF ART MAKING CAN BE A BEWILDERING AND, at times, tormenting process that absorbs the artist to the point of distraction. The creative spirit is a needy restless one which can demand attention every waking moment, not unlike a precocious child and, like these testy children, strong individualistic art is not always calm or comfortable.
The torment of the artistic soul is a well documented phenomenon and history is littered with tales, both fact and fiction, eloquently re-telling the foibles and folly of bygone artists.
To suggest that Janet Korakas suffers interminably for her art would be over dramatising, even ...
