ABSTRACT
Objective: To compare the safety and efficacy of a concentrated megestrol acetate oral suspension and traditional megestrol acetate in a randomized, controlled trial in HIV-infected patients with weight loss.
Materials and Methods: The efficacy and safety of a new formulation of megestrol acetate concentrated suspension (575 mg/5 mL; MA-CS) was compared with traditional megestrol acetate oral suspension (800 mg/20 mL; MA-OS) in 63 HIV-infected adults with weight loss in South Africa, India, and the United States.
