Zannino to exit after Dow Jones deal closes
Dow Jones & Co. announced last week that CEO Richard Zannino plans to leave the company after its $5.6 billion sale to News Corp. is completed. The close is expected later this month. News Corp. is expected to name News International Executive Chairman Les Hinton to succeed Zannino, according to a report on WSJ.com. The report also said that Times of London Editor Robert Thomson will become publisher of Dow Jones' flagship, The Wall Street Journal. L. Gordon Crovitz, the current publisher, said in a memo to the Journal's staff that he was leaving Dow Jones management as soon as the deal closes.
