THE family of West Yorkshire student Ahmed Hassan have paid tribute to the teenager, describing him as a "shining star" who would have been an asset to his community and country.
In a statement, parents Yasmin and Ibrahim Hassan said the 17-year-old, who was stabbed to death on Saturday, was "well loved, respected and admired by his family, friends and even his tutors."
Ahmed, of Craig Close, Batley, who planned to study law at university, was stabbed in the back following a confrontation at Dewsbury rail station.
