MILLBURY - Although a wide net was cast, the Board of Selectmen had to look no further than Carousel Drive for the new town manager.

Robert Spain of 14 Carousel Drive was unanimously voted the new town manager after selectmen interviewed all three finalists.

"I'm awed and deeply appreciative," said Mr. Spain after selectmen announced their selection. "I look forward to the challenges. I love Millbury. It's where I live, and I look forward to doing the best job."

Daniel M. Keyes of Springfield and Michael Szlozek of Ludlow were also interviewed last night.

This is Mr. Spain's second time in the town's top ...
