The International Facility Management Association Foundation and facilities maintenance distributor Grainger joined forces to help the New Orleans Fire Department.
Hurricane Katrina rendered more than 20 of New Orleans' 33 fire stations inoperable--many of these fire stations remain uninhabitable today and in need of repair.
Following IFMA's World Workplace 2007 Conference & Expo Oct. 27, more than 130 volunteers spent the day cleaning, painting and repairing six local fire stations damaged by Katrina.
