If you visit India, you'll need lots of paper towels to wipe the sweat running down your face, a big at, a tube of sunscreen lotion, and some knowledge of Hindi. Hindi is the national language of India. In most parts of India, you can talk to the locals if you know some basic phrases.
Phrases in Hindi
Greeting anyone starts with a Namasthe (nu-MUS-thay). This greeting is done with both palms pressed together at the chest and it can be done to represent "Hello," "Good Morning," "Good Evening" or "Good-bye."
In some parts of India, Hindus greet each other with "RaamRaam" (RAW-m-RAW-m)--the name of a Hindu God.
