The unexpected electoral successes of the right-wing 'Republikaner' and the National Democrats (NPD) in 1989 on the one hand, and, on the other hand, outbursts of partly murderous violence against refugees and people deemed 'foreigners' mainly since 1991 mark the horizons of recent developments of right-wing extremism and racist violence in Germany. Who are the right-wing extremists and racists?
