Family planning services are frequently, used and important services for American women of reproductive age. (1) According to the 2002 National Survey of Family Growth, 42% of women aged 15-44 have sought a family planning service from a medical provider in the last 12 months. (2) These services are especially important for young women. Sixty-three percent of women 20 24 years old and 55% of women aged 25-29 have sought a birth control service in the last year.
