Manufacturers offer lighting design tools; computers, fax programs and a new training center are among the resources available to lighting design professionals.

Lighting designers can make use of the new lighting design software that is available in 1995, as well as educational programs offered by such firms as Osram Sylvania's Lightpoint, The Lighting Research Center, in Danvers, MA. Lighting Technologies Inc and Cooper Lighting has introduced Luxicon software package for both industrial and commercial applications. Lightolier's design aids can be found via its Fax-On-Demand system and its electronic bulletin board.

In an increasingly computer-oriented design environment, lighting manufacturers have begun to offer customers assistance in specifications via computer software, as well as education-oriented programs.
