DALLAS, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation attorneys today announced that a mechanic at Astraea Aviation Services has filed a class-action lawsuit against Astraea Aviation Services, Inc. and Local 19 of the Teamsters union charging both with illegally coercing workers to join the union and pay full union dues.
The suit invokes Texas' Right to Work law which guarantees employees the freedom to choose whether to join a union or pay union dues.
The action also puts in jeopardy some $200,000 in annual compulsory dues payments seized by the union as a result of its illegal bargaining agreement with Astraea.
