NEW YORK _ It is ``like, wow.''
That's what Monica Seles says about playing the U.S. Open, her first Grand Slam tournament since she won the Australian Open in January 1993. And the folks at the United States Tennis Association have a certain sense of high drama, too.
Opening night has been given over to Seles. Monday night at 7:30, Seles will walk through the massive crowd, surrounded by four or five burly, frowning security men, and she will step onto Stadium Court and the crowd will be in a frenzy. The rich and famous will be out by the limoful, and Seles is going to enjoy every minute of it. You can tell.
