The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts, now undergoing an elegant $30.4 million renovation, has announced that it will stage several noted Broadway shows when it opens for business next spring.
But those in charge will be hard put to equal the pomp, circumstance and general excitement of 101 years ago, when Sarah Bernhardt rolled into town in her special railroad car to play "Camille," one of her signature performances, at what was then called the Franklin Square Theater.
