Hops shortage coming to a head.(News)

Beer drinkers likely will swallow higher prices and, in the most doomsday of scenarios, some brews might even be temporarily tapped out because of a severe shortage of hops and malted barley.

Charlie Papazian, president of the Boulder-based Brewers Association and founder of the Association of Brewers, said he expects that the price of a six-pack may increase by as much as $1.50.
