There are several things to note about the following story -- which is part Contacts, part Country neighbors and part paid classified ad.
While there is no such thing as a "typical" homesteader, this couple is fairly average in many respects. They don't live on a lonely mountain top without electricity or running water. In fact, they're only 90 miles from Chicago. He was born on a farm, had a career in business, and they retired to a small farm/homestead.
