FOSTER CITY, Calif.--(HealthWire)--Sept. 5, 1995--Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: GILD) announced today that VISTIDE(TM) (cidofovir intravenous) is now available under a Treatment Investigational New Drug (IND) Program for eligible patients with relapsing cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis. VISTIDE is an investigational therapeutic agent and will be made available free of charge in this program to patients who qualify and whose physicians register in the Treatment IND Program.
