COUNCIL workers are appealing to the Ballymoney public in an attempt to find homes for two "gorgeous" King Charles dogs.
The dogs, a male and female, were discovered on the Toberdonney Road on the outskirts of the town on Friday of last week.
It is not known whether the animals were abandoned or simply escaped from their owner's home.
Environmental Services Warden Karen Mitchell said the dogs' plight was made more poignant given the time of year.
She said: "I received a Christmas card last week from a lady who had re-homed a chocolate labrador a while back thanking us and wishing us the best for Christmas and the New Year.
