AN election candidate has admitted failing to declare time spent in jail.
Sajid Mehmood, 36, of Saxon Street, off Hanson Lane, Halifax, stood for the Respect Party in Park Ward, Halifax, in council elections in May.
He admitted making a false statement on nomination papers when he appeared before Calder-dale magistrates yesterday.
