Former Halifax ace Ben Gudzelak just missed out on glory in the Yorkshire Closed Championships at South Leeds Tennis Centre this week.
After seeing off Huddersfield's Mike Tolman 6-3, 6-4 in the semi-final, he faced full time professional Kyle Brassington of Ilkley in the final.
Brassington, who had qualified after beating Hallamshire's Jason Torpey in the first semi final was taken to a tie break in the first set of the final which he edged 7-5.
Gudzelak continued to battle in the second set but the effects of playing back to back games and his efforts in the first set caught up with him and though he continued to push Brassington hard, he lost ...
