MORE than half the people in Northamptonshire are gladiators when it comes to battling winter colds, according to a new survey.
As the county braces itself for the cold season, research carried out by Lemsip has revealed almost two-thirds of county people battle on in the face of the flu virus, refusing to take time off work for fear of letting colleagues down or missing important meetings.
A total of 58 per cent of the county population surveyed fight the virus in true gladiator style, while 36 per cent are hibernators, preferring to hide under their duvet with tissues and a hot water bottle to hand.
