A FAMILIAR face in a Brighouse pub for more than 30 years has died aged 87.

Doris Sampson moved to the town with her late husband, Peter, in the mid-1950s and they ran the Black Bull, Thornton Square.

He died 29 years ago. Mrs Sampson retired from the pub in 1987.

Mrs Sampson remained active until her death in Dewsbury District Hospital last Friday.
