POLICE officers have appealed for help as they try to discover how a man who had been missing presumed drowned suddenly turned up more than five years after disappearing.
John Darwin, who lived at The Cliff in Seaton Carew, went missing in March 2002 after going out in his canoe near his home.

Mr Darwin, who was 51 at the time, was never found and, after wreckage from his canoe was washed up, it was widely assumed the father-of-two was dead.
On Saturday evening, however, Mr Darwin walked into the West End police station, off Regent Street, in London, and declared: "I think ...
