DRIED BEANS--Dry edible bean trading is seasonally slow, as market members anticipate the holiday's arrival. Demand is light to moderate as end users operate off previously made contracts. There was little to no change in values noted last week.
The U.S. dry edible bean crop is estimated to be 25.2 million cwt, up 4% from a year earlier. Harvested areas were down 4%, and hot, dry weather in Michigan, Colorado, and Idaho impacted crop development and yield potential.
