Sales of the ID Top 50 broadline foodservice distributors reached $83.9 billion in 2006, a 6.7% increase from the previous year. Growth was higher than in 2005, however, it is still slower than the 9.5% increase in 2004 and the 8.7% growth in 2003. Only four companies among the entire Top 50 saw a decrease in sales in 2006.
All foodservice distributorships' sales reached $215 billion in 2006, according to TECHNOMIC, INC. Broadliners' accounted for $121 billion, specialists represented $70 billion and specialists brought in $24 billion.
