A new chief executive of Cambridgeshire County Council has been appointed.
Mark Lloyd has the full support of all three political parties on the council, and once they give their formal agreement at a special council meeting today (Thursday, January 10), Mr Lloyd will take up his new post in April 2008.
Until that time Gordon Jeyes remains acting chief executive.
Mr Lloyd, 40, will become the youngest chief executive in the council's history. He is currently chief executive of Durham County Council, recently judged by the Audit Commission as a top performing "four star council".
Durham was the only County Council named in 2007 as a Beacon Council for School ...
