For more than 15 years, the state's harbors, lakes, rivers, streams and estuaries have benefited from folks who pay the Registry of Motor Vehicles $76 for a new plate or $81 to renew a plate that displays their support for environmental protection and education.

The three environmental specialty plates feature a right whale, a brook trout, or a Blackstone Valley mill and waterwheel.
