WRESTLING IS THE FASTEST-growing sport in Arkansas' high schools.
In September 2006, three high schools offered wresting. Fifteen months later, the 40th high school in the state agreed to offer wrestling, which was the number of schools the Arkansas Activities Association required to sanction the sport, said Greg Hatcher, the president of the Arkansas Wrestling Association.
Up until the fall of 2006, only Mississippi and Arkansas high schools stayed away from the program.
