Rye's new fish processing plant may have to be used by other businesses if it is to survive says Rye Partnership.
The plant, which is part of the new fishing quay development at Rock Channel, is owned by the Partnership and fishermen are not happy about the proposed shared use.
They fear other businesses would complain about the noise and smell associated with fish processing.
Partnership chairman Keith Glazier said: "Our total commitment is to supporting the fishing industry in Rye and we have been successful in obtaining a grant to move this project forward.
